Katie Young – Advanced Clinical Massage Therapist

Clinic Associate

Katie first qualified as a massage therapist in 2017, then expanded her skill set gaining additional diplomas in Reflexology (2018) and Sports Massage (2019). In 2022 she began studying at the Jing Institute in Brighton, graduating in 2023 with a Level 4 Diploma in Advanced Clinical Massage and Sports Massage. Knowledge gained from her latest diploma has elevated Katie’s scope of practice, enabling her to confidently work with people who have chronic and complex pain conditions.

Katie has studied massage for a total of 6 years. Her education continues, as she works towards a Level 6 Diploma in Advanced Clinical Massage and has entered her third and final dissertation year.

Katie is a passionate, outcome-based therapist, employing a diverse set of techniques: myofascial release, trigger point therapy, acupressure, stretching, and personalised self-care/rehabilitation strategies. She creates bespoke treatment plans for each client, incorporating orthopaedic assessment and postural analysis.

Katie is a qualified pastry chef and previously lived in Australia. When she isn’t in clinic or studying, she enjoys spending time with her family, getting out with her dog, and embracing the beauty of our Cornish and Devon countryside. Katie has a keen interest in nutrition and adopts a “back to basics approach” wherever possible in her life. She loves to read, primarily around the subject of massage, health, and well-being.
